About the Summer Schools
The ISPRS Student Consortium, in collaboration with Working Group VI/5, has organised a series of international summer schools since 2010. These events offer hands-on training, academic exchange, and networking opportunities for students and early-career researchers in the fields of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and spatial information science.
Each summer school is hosted by a partner institution and features lectures, practical workshops, and field activities. Below is a record of past summer schools.

The ISPRS Student Consortium serves as a dedicated communication platform connecting students and early-career researchers across the fields of photogrammetry, remote sensing, and spatial information science. Through its newsletters, the consortium shares announcements, scholarship opportunities, and job openings that matter to the academic community. These regular publications keep members informed about upcoming activities, summer schools, and special offers, while also providing a space for sharing reports, proceedings, and educational materials. The newsletters are designed to be a reliable channel through which the consortium fulfills its aim of building a strong, informed network that supports professional growth and academic exchange.
Beyond announcements, the newsletters highlight the achievements and activities of the consortium's board and its many working groups. Each edition typically features summaries of recent events, including summer schools and practical training sessions hosted in collaboration with partner institutions worldwide. Readers can find detailed accounts of field activities, workshop outcomes, and the latest developments in geospatial technology and methodology. The newsletter also serves as an archive of the consortium's history, documenting the evolution of its programs and the growing community of students and researchers who contribute to advancing the science of spatial information.
For students seeking to expand their horizons, the newsletter regularly features information about grants and practical training opportunities available through the consortium and its partners. These programs are designed to provide hands-on experience that complements academic study, bridging the gap between theory and real-world application. The consortium also uses its newsletter to promote academic exchange initiatives, encouraging participation across borders and disciplines. By keeping members aware of these opportunities, the newsletter plays a vital role in helping early-career professionals build the skills and connections needed to succeed in their chosen fields.
The consortium's newsletters also function as an educational resource, offering materials and documents that support learning in photogrammetry, remote sensing, and related technologies. Readers can access summaries of proceedings from conferences and workshops, along with technical reports that capture the latest research findings. This content is carefully curated to be accessible to students at various stages of their studies while remaining valuable to more experienced researchers. Through this steady stream of educational content, the newsletter reinforces the consortium's commitment to fostering a vibrant and knowledgeable community within the broader ISPRS network.
Members are encouraged to stay engaged with the newsletter by following the consortium's official communication channels, including its social media presence on platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn. These channels complement the newsletter by offering more frequent updates and informal interaction with the community. The consortium maintains a comprehensive calendar of upcoming events and activities, ensuring that members never miss an opportunity to participate. Whether through the newsletter, the website, or social media, the ISPRS Student Consortium strives to keep its community connected, informed, and inspired to contribute to the future of spatial information science.
